My Story
Creating colorful PhotoMontage Art has become a passion.
As I was rounding up my Radio career (another passion!), I started spending time teaching myself how to use Adobe software products, Photoshop and Lightroom being two that intrigued me most.
In 2016 my sons Andy and Chris gave me a wonderful book that was filled with many Adobe Photoshop tips. That book gave me incredible confidence to explore all the many powerful facets of this Adobe product.
I have been taking photographs for the majority of my life. My Dad started a wedding photo business after WWII and built a full-blown photo dark room in our basement. He taught me how to develop film and create prints at a very early age.
One day I was trying a tip from the Photoshop book on a number of photos I had taken. The result was a shockingly surprise art piece. How could 3 different photographs create something so colorful and different? To see if it was a fluke, I ran 3 different photos thru the process and again, magic! I have been creating Photomontage Art ever since. Right now there are over 1,000 unique photomontage art pieces in my digital gallery, each art piece made up of at least three (trois) different photos. Some have more.
Three (trois) photographers (me included) are part of this gallery. My late Dad, Ralph Vargo, left our family many black and white negatives, some which I processed and used as part of this gallery. Our next-door neighbor in Bloomington, the late William Dellenback, was the chief photographer for Alfred Kinsey, founder of the Kinsey Sex Institute at Indiana University. When Bill died, his nephews gave me ownership of some of Bill’s prints that I have used in a few montages.
I hope you enjoy viewing my work. All the pieces can be purchased as canvas or photo (glossy or mat) prints, sizes determined by you. Just click the CONTACT tab and send me an email with your order information. If you just want to email me a note with suggestions on how this site could be better, please do. Now, off to add another 1,000 to the gallery!!
